The Retention Sales Director will own the sales process for mega and large governmental plan renewals and at risk plans. Proactively work with relationship management team in the prior two years leading up to a renewal to ensure Empower is well positioned to retain the relationship. Own sales strategy from start to finish and including execution of successful RFP, finals presentation, site visit, and contract negotiation.

 

Location for this position is highly flexible.


 

What you will do

 

  • Own the retention sales process from start to finish

  • Work with leadership and relationship management teams to identify upcoming renewals

  • Identify at risk clients and develop a strategy to retain

  • Attend committee meetings with Relationship Managers in advance of renewal or RFP to understand client needs, objectives, and sensitivities

  • Establish and execute clear sales strategy to ensure retention

  • Navigate procurement and collaborate with consultants and advisors to ensure plan retention

  • Position Empower and Great-West Investments product offerings to enhance participant outcomes

  • Utilize all internal resources to ensure client satisfaction and renewal

  • Lead RFP response

  • Lead finalist presentation including team assembly, preparation, and delivery

  • Lead contract negotiations and involve leadership and relationship management as appropriate

  • Document all activity and strategy in Salesforce

  • Keep senior management informed of all at risk situations, and involve leadership when appropriate

 

 

What you will bring

 

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in marketing or finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10+ years' experience in recordkeeping business

  • Sales experience in the recordkeeping industry

  • FINRA Series 6 and 63 registrations or ability to obtain within established timelines

  • FINRA Fingerprinting upon hire
