Your Role: What you'll be doing

  • Lead a team of strength engineers for the Vulcan Development Upgrades team such that systems, subsystem, and component designs satisfy overall launch vehicle requirements. Develop and execute schedule tasks that meet program cost/schedule needs.
  • Assign strength tasks based on employee strengths and/or development plans.
  • Ensure balanced workload between teammates.
  • Provides direct support to the design & strength teams, suppliers, the factory, and the launch site to ensure development, qualification, & production schedules are met.
  • Leads trade studies that lead to new/optimized designs.
  • Conduct performance reviews and work with employees on their development plan including training.
  • Coach and maintain engineering skills matrix and develop talent where needed.
  • Recognize and reward teammates.
  • Do whatever it takes to make the team successful.

Your Background: What education and experience you'll need

Requires a bachelor's degree and 8-12 years of experience; advanced degrees are typically preferred at this level.

  • A bachelors degree in engineering or related field from an accredited College or University is required
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Programmatic skills.
  • Familiarity and background with development and recurring launch system processes
  • Knowledge of engineering development, qualification, production, and strength processes is required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exposure to Agile Framework.

Summary Salary Range (Colorado Only)

$143,999 - $224,955

Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
