WHAT TO EXPECT

Located in our Englewood office, the Global Product Line Manager (GPLM) -Digital Solutions will report to Senior Manager, Global Product Line Management - Digital Solutions - Fluid Power. You will work with technical resources to manage the portfolio of organic investments in the product line across the entire product lifecycle; from ideation to commercialization and end-of-life. You'll coordinate with manufacturing and operations to ensure product availability. In this position, you will work with sales and customers to capture VOC and incorporate it into product and technical roadmaps, with a focus on digital solutions and Industrial IoT integration.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drives the evolution of Connected Platforms that simplify the global application of Gates Hydraulic products, including digital tools like eCrimp as well as mechanical tools like the GC20 Cortex Crimper.
  • Partner with global commercial teams on key initiatives and growth opportunities. Continually capture, analyze, and interpret customer questions, requirements, or problems, and translate them into digital solutions that simplify the application of Gates Hydraulics solutions for end users.
  • Support P&L for the product line, including strategic planning and tactical execution to achieve financial and other operating metrics.
  • Translate market trends and growth opportunities into product and technical roadmaps with cross-functional buy-in (technical, operations, commercial, IT, procurement, etc.).
  • Conduct voice-of-the-customer interviews and feed customer desires into the internal organization through customer visits, industry association participation, and competitive research.
  • Assist in developing and driving the NPD process for the product line, including digital and IoT tools, to achieve desired results. Ensure that feature, quality, and cost objectives are reached and that schedules are kept. Prepare required commercialization materials. Document product specs, strategy, plans, training needs, etc.
  • Lead new product launch process and commercialization for your initiatives.
  • Maintain current knowledge and expertise of product engineering technologies, new product designs, competitor capabilities and practices, market conditions, and market channels to develop short-term and long-term product design and necessary digital strategies.
  • Develop and coordinate marketing communications materials for all global sales channels, internal and external.
  • Identify opportunities to support product line growth via all sources, including product line extension, portfolio gap analysis, exploration of M&A targets, and due diligence.

  • A solid understanding of digital technology; specifically web-based and mobile applications.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preference for a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business or Marketing.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in product line management, marketing, outside field sales, application and/or product engineering, or business development, along with evidence of continued career progression. Preferred: experience in at least 2 of the aforementioned roles.
  • Preferred: experience with digital strategies or industrial services.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including international travel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence with and without authority.
  • Excited to work in the office with great teammates.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

PAY & BENEFITS

  • Full-Time
  • Salary Range: $118,420 - $135,000
  • Bonus Eligible
  • Relocation is not provided
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
  • 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
