The Sales Compensation Director provides strategic direction and leads the design, planning, analysis, implementation and administration of effective incentive compensation plans and process specific to the Empower Personal Wealth (EPW) organization. Acts as an advisor to Sales Leaders on sales compensation plans and provides recommendations based on analysis, best practices, benchmarks and key metrics that align with the company s strategic direction to positively influence desired financial results. This is a collaborative role that will work cross-functionally with Sales Leaders, Finance and Legal partners to understand business initiatives and collectively develop effective solutions.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and implement sales compensation plans aligned with company goals and considering best-in-class wealth management, financial services, brokerage, RIA industry.

  • Analyze sales performance metrics, market trends, and sales strategies to support plan design considerations.

  • Work closely with sales leadership, HR, finance, and other stakeholders to understand sales strategies, gather input, and ensure alignment of incentive plans with overall business objectives.

  • Clearly communicate and educate the sales leadership on compensation plans, changes, and performance metrics, ensuring transparency and understanding.

  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of compensation plans by monitoring sales performance, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing adjustments to drive desired behaviors and results.

  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while designing and implementing compensation plans.

What you will bring

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.

  • Previous experience (10+ years) in sales compensation design or a related field, preferably in wealth management, financial services, brokerage, RIA industry

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, evaluate sales performance, and make informed decisions.

  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex compensation structures and changes clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges and optimize compensation plans for better sales outcomes.

  • Familiarity with sales processes, performance metrics, incentive structures, and regulatory compliance related to compensation.

  • Advanced skills in Excel. Strongly proficient skills in Word, PowerPoint and automated sales incentive solutions.

  • Certification in sales compensation or related areas can be advantageous.

  • Self-starter with excellent knowledge in sales, incentive programs and high-level understanding and experience with financial services, especially financial services, brokerage, RIA, wealth management

  • Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex data and develop creative and innovative solutions within a fast changing, growing and complex organization.

  • Ability to be detail oriented and manage multiple priorities to accomplish assignments simultaneously under tight timelines.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and define realistic / sustainable solutions.

  • Ability to manage, align and influence process with business partners.

  • Proven ability to operate cross functionally and develop creative and innovative solutions within a fast changing, growing and complex organization.

Base Salary Range

$115,100.00 - $166,850.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
