Supervises staff and provides culinary expertise in food preparation service, assuring proper production techniques, portion control and plating standards are applied according to menu, recipe, and department standards.

Posting Details

  • Shift: Thursday-Monday 12-8:45pm. No remote work, no on-call requirements.
  • Full Time 40 hrs/weekly

Scope

This position is responsible for purchasing all food and material supplies for the Food Service department following Sodexo procurement guidelines using an online ordering platform. Understanding and execution of all food safety guidelines is critical. ServSafe certification is required, but can be obtained after hire. The main duties of this position include, but is not limited to the rotation of products, maintaining sanitation and organization of store rooms, inspection of deliveries & restocking, inventory, and managing communication with vendors & department leaders. It is also expected that this position will support culinary functions in the department as assigned by the Executive Chef and supervise daily work activities of the culinary team. To be successful in this role, you must have strong computer skills, able to communicate across different levels of the department, be flexible, work independently and be proactive in seeking out alternative products to support the operations.



Minimum Qualifications

  • Serv- Safe Certification to be obtained within 3 months on the job is required


Preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred Two (2) year Associates degree from an accredited Culinary school is preferred
  • Four (4) years of high volume cooking, Two (2) years in a culinary leadership role is preferred

1. Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.
  • Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • -See and read computer monitors and documents.
  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
  • -May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.
