The Machine Shop Production Supervisor oversees the staff, equipment, processes and production plan in the machine shop. The Machine Shop Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the product is machined and prepared for the next stage of production to drive on time delivery and quality metrics while ensuring team member safety.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with EH&S to ensure safety culture is maintained. Experience with VPP sites preferred

  • Manage machinists, operators, material handlers, and work closely with production planners and manufacturing engineering to deliver on customer requirements (internal and external).

  • Perform data collection and analysis to drive increased OEE, productivity, and reduced COPQ

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities utilizing lean principles and tools

  • Create and/or update standard work per ISO requirements

  • Drive OTD results

  • Maintain TPMs and enforce 6S procedures

  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.

  • Initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

  • Execute production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems

  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

  • Ensures operation of equipment by escalating maintenance issues

  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

Skills & Abilities

Required:

  • Leadership & mentoring experience

  • Understanding of machining processes

  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERP system

  • Tracking budget expenses

  • Production planning

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products

Preferred:

  • Process improvement experience

  • Strategic planning experience

  • Financial planning and strategy development

  • Communication and conflict resolution experience

Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years experience in manufacturing environment

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience

  • LEAN manufacturing experience preferred

Physical requirements:

This job requires a mix of work in an office and indoor factory setting.

Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted.

Compensation Details

Annual Salary: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00

Additional Compensation

Salary Range for this position: $70,000-90,000 (the salary offered will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and will be compared with internal equity along with market data for this position).
