The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is hiring an Assistant Program Director to join our Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Energy Education Career & Technical Education (CTE) team at System Office. In this role you will supervise and manage the operation and logistical support for a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that fosters leadership abilities in students. You will assist the Program Director - Agriculture in providing leadership, expertise, and coordination that promotes excellence in Career & Technical Education programs at the secondary and postsecondary levels. Examples of Duties

The Assistant Program Director provides leadership and expertise in the development and coordination of CTSO curriculum and assists with the development of advisory committees and student organizations. They coordinator trainings and mentoring opportunities for the Colorado FFA State Officer team, FFA Advisors, and FFA stakeholders. They assist in the development of quality agriculture programs through the development of the three-circle model. The Assistant Program Director also provides liaison activities with the National FFA Organization Finally, the Assistant Director promotes and implements initiatives as outlined in the Colorado CTE and CCCS Strategic Plans.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the CTSO: membership, finances, official records, policies and procedures, and guidelines in accordance with the CTSO's constitution and bylaws.
  • Supervise, manage, and train the state leadership team that is composed of student officers and adult advisors.
  • Establish, implement, and manage the process for logistical support for state conferences, officer training, and other leadership events including, but not limited to contracts, registration, content management systems, and competitive events.
  • Provide statewide technical assistance to local chapter advisors in establishing and strengthening their CTSO as an integral part of their CTE program.
  • Mentor new teachers and assist with growing student organization participation with focus on expanding leadership skills.
  • Serve as a team member with other CTSO State Advisors/Assistant Program Directors to plan, promote, and support combined CTSO activities such as, but not limited to Legislative Day, Officer Leadership Training, and the SCCOES Presentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (additional related work experience can substitute year for year in lieu of a degree).
  • Two years of experience that includes:
    • Experience with student organizations (CTSOs preferred).
    • Experience in conference planning and coordination.
  • Experience working in a secondary or postsecondary environment (teaching experience preferred).
