Primary purpose:

Tallgrass Energy is looking for an Analyst-SCADA Measurement to provide support for our SCADA applications. This position may include application configuration, application design, graphics development and other activities in accordance with the company's SCADA and Operations policies, procedures and standards.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities in the SCADA area focus on support of SCADA and Autosol ACM systems including screen design, scripts, reports and related applications.
  • Configure SCADA systems to communicate to new equipment as needed.
  • Track SCADA alerts and SCADA system maintenance including reboots, backups and reset of client displays.
  • Assist in troubleshooting system issues, expanding user access and assisting in data request.
  • Develop/improve/implement SCADA tools and software.
  • Responsibilities include the collection and interpretation of functional users' requirements and participation in the identification, technical translation, development and implementation of solutions to meet those needs, primarily as they relate to bolt-on applications, interfaces between the systems, reporting and data collection for various internal and external audit requests.
  • Provide system hardware and software support in conjunction with appropriate IT personnel as needed.
  • Participate with IT Telecommunications personnel to review network design, maintenance issues, monitoring, etc.
  • Other duties include working with users and software vendors to address issues and application upgrade activities.
  • After hours support is an additional responsibility shared with others in the group.
  • Devise or modify procedures to solve business problems using good information technology techniques, keeping in mind the capacity and limitations of the hardware/software, system response time, and form of desired results.
  • Regularly works under deadlines.
  • Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.

Minimum requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in IT, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years direct work experience in IT or a related discipline or military technical telecomm training and experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree.

Experience/Specific Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 5 years overall IT experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years development/support experience of SCADA or measurement systems including Crystal Reports.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience focusing on system development, support, implementation and upgrades.
  • Experience in industrial communications: Modbus, DNP3, OPC, etc
  • Experience in the full product development life cycle.
  • Established SQL skills in MS SQL and Oracle.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Analytical thinker able to utilize functional understanding of the various components of systems in conjunction with technical knowledge to identify effective and efficient problem resolutions.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills; must communicate effectively with all levels of company personnel
  • Ability to work well both individually with minimal supervision and in a team environment where the sharing of knowledge is highly regarded and expected
  • Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience in an application development environment using WinForms, Microsoft.Net or equivalent technology
  • Experience in using SQL to select and manipulate data
  • Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate systems requirements verbally and in writing
  • Experience in effectively communicating business and technical issues to both technically and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in working on multiple assignments during the same time frame juggling tasks based on relative priorities with supervision commensurate with grade leve.
  • Use time effectively and efficiently.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.

  • Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets; position will be filled an Analyst-SCADA/Measurement, Analyst-SCADA/Measurement, Senior, or Project Lead-SCADA/Measurement at Management's discretion.

Working Conditions:

  • Required to carry a cell phone, and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • None.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
  • Experience working on GeoSCADA/ClearSCADA is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working on Autosol Communications Manager (ACM) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working on FlowCal is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working on OSI-PI is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Pipeline and/or Liquid Terminals Industries.
  • Good understanding of PLC logic control and function.
