Job Summary:

The University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, School of Dental Medicine welcomes applications from exceptional candidates with excellence in dental specialty practice for part-time pre-clinical and clinical, volunteer and per-diem faculty positions. Successful candidates will have passion for and an interest in, and commitment to clinical care and teaching. The school has five incredible dental programs, including three residencies and seven clinics on the Anschutz Medical Campus.

Per diem positions available in any of the SDM departments.

  • Department of Community Dentistry & Population Health

  • Department of Diagnostic Sciences & Surgical Dentistry

  • Department of Restorative Dentistry

  • Department of Orthodontics

Examples of work performed

The duties for this faculty position include clinical and didactic teaching. The overall distribution of such activities and allocation of responsibilities is determined by each Department Chair based on department and School of Dental Medicine needs, along with other appropriate considerations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Instructor - Clinical

  • DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited US Dental School or foreign equivalent
  • Eligible to be licensed in Colorado
  • Dependent upon the dental specialty, experience in treating complex dental cases, medically complex patients, and or patients requiring multidisciplinary care
  • Applicants must have a clinical, scholarly, and/or academic record consistent with each appointment level in the School of Dental Medicine

Assistant Professor - Clinical

  • DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited US Dental School or foreign equivalent
  • Eligible to be licensed in Colorado
  • Dependent upon the dental specialty, experience in treating complex dental cases, medically complex patients, and or patients requiring multidisciplinary care
  • Applicants must have a clinical, scholarly, and/or academic record consistent with each appointment level in the School of Dental Medicine

Associate Professor - Clinical

  • DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited US Dental School or foreign equivalent
  • Eligible to be licensed in Colorado
  • Dependent upon the dental specialty, experience in treating complex dental cases, medically complex patients, and or patients requiring multidisciplinary care
  • Applicants must have a clinical, scholarly, and/or academic record consistent with each appointment level in the School of Dental Medicine

Professor Clinical

  • DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited US Dental School or foreign equivalent
  • Eligible to be licensed in Colorado
  • Dependent upon the dental specialty, experience in treating complex dental cases, medically complex patients, and or patients requiring multidisciplinary care
  • Applicants must have a clinical, scholarly, and/or academic record consistent with each appointment level in the School of Dental Medicine

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a CODA approved Dental Specialty and/or General Practice Residency
  • Candidates who have a dental specialty should be dental specialty board eligible
  • Board certification and prior teaching experience are preferred
  • Dependent upon the dental specialty, experience in treating complex dental cases, medically complex patients, and or patients requiring multidisciplinary care

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $47.00 to $100.00 per hour for per diem positions. Faculty Volunteer positions are unpaid.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
