As a Research and Development (R&D) Software Engineer, you will help steer the direction of strategic corporate technology by focusing on solving industrial problems through reliable research work. Working as a researcher in R&D projects, you will solve applied research and technology problems and develop ways to more effectively solve them. R&D software development consists of the ongoing design, development, testing and maintenance of ABB's process control products (as example S+ Engineering). Software product development to respond to customer reported issues, customer requirements to enhanced functionality of existing products and customer requirements for new products. Development will be done using Microsoft technologies, including C++, C#, ASP.NET, XML, Visual Studio and Web Services. With direction, you will follow specific instructions of supervisor or senior engineers to perform assignments requiring application of standard software development and engineering principles and practices.
