The Regional HR Director will proactively identify opportunities and offer creative solutions that reflect a strong understanding of business priorities, industry trends, and best practices across our offices. This position is responsible for providing People leadership across several Mountain, Mid-West, and Eastern states, supporting the District Operations leadership, and managing and mentoring several District HR Managers. Key areas of focus include employee relations, leadership coaching, training & development, teambuilding, organizational development, workforce planning, culture, and engagement, change management, talent management, and HR project leadership.


Here's how a Regional HR Director contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with National HR leader, sector executives, and district HR management to ensure that all HR services are aligned with the sector's strategic plan and the needs of the overall organization.
  • Liaises and coordinates efforts with sector leaders and Corporate HR regarding legislation, industry standards, and company best practices to ensure consistent application.
  • Identifies and manages risk and opportunities within HR processes, projects, or programs at a sector or regional level.
  • Assists sector HR leader with the creation and implementation of HR initiatives.
  • Supports sector leaders in establishing meaningful development plans to build a leadership pipeline and support succession management at the district and regional levels.
  • Coaches districts on necessary considerations and resolutions for employee relocations, employee relations, investigations or grievances, and terminations.
  • Ensures that comprehensive training needs assessments and plans are in place which reflect the appropriate balance of behavioral, leadership, and technical programs to support both district and sector talent-management strategies.
  • Facilitates and/or coordinates events such as partnering and strategic planning and delivers training at a regional or national level as required.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of HR performance standards and jointly conducts HR operational reviews, analyzes data, measures effectiveness, and works with district HR to identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve client service.
  • Executes employment investigations and recommends a solution to mitigate risk and coaches and mentors others.
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience.
  • Able to tactfully and diplomatically deal with people and act with discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Advanced business acumen, with an understanding of industry practices and new developments.
  • Able to use information and data to interpret, analyze, and recommend strategic solutions.
  • Able to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills, with the ability to delegate and coordinate activities effectively and lead and motivate HR leaders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and present ideas and content that contribute to the organization's strategic priorities.

PREFERRED:

  • HR Certification (ex. SPHR, GPHR, or similar.)
  • Experience working in the construction industry or related.
  • Experience in a large, national, or global business, managing geographically dispersed teams.

The salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $165,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
