Description

The Financial Crimes QA Specialist is responsible for assisting with analyzing and understanding policy, procedure, and regulations related to BSA/AML, OFAC, and Fraud in order to analyze data and conducting quality assurance testing to monitor compliance and best practices, and identify risk or gaps in controls.

  1. Independently execute testing activities to assess the design and effectiveness of controls, as well as confirming compliance with applicable regulation, policy, and/or procedure
  2. Conduct testing by using various testing methods, identifying root cause analysis for issues identified, and accurately interpret and record results
  3. Assist in planning activities and offer innovative solutions to achieve testing goals
  4. Identify control and process weaknesses through testing activities
  5. Assist with tracking and monitoring corrective action activities from Financial Crimes QA Assessments, Audits, and Regulatory Exams.
  6. Conduct follow-up testing activities
  7. Consistently prepare documentation to accurately and effectively outline the testing activities and results to support conclusions
  8. Routinely demonstrate concise and professional communication, both written and verbal
  9. Summarize testing goals, activities, and results and deliver timely reports
  10. Assist in the creation and management of the department's policies, procedures, and various templates.
  11. Demonstrate a strong understanding of related Bank programs, policy, procedure, and systems
  12. Research and demonstrate an understanding of industry, bank, and regulatory awareness
  13. Assist with collecting data for audits, risk assessments, regulatory exams, or other QA reporting activities
  14. Promote continuous improvement by participating in training opportunities and offering innovative solutions to streamline processes and improve efficiencies
  15. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties and special projects, as assigned

Position Requirements:

Self-motivated individual who possesses the following:

  • Associates degree, required. A high school diploma with 3+ years of strong commensurate experience in audit, compliance, or risk analysis may be considered in lieu of an associates degree.
  • 1 - 3 years of prior experience in audit, compliance, risk analysis, or related field, required
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are required - ability to accurately and efficiently conduct testing, problem-solve, review and analyze data, assess risk, and conduct root cause analysis
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to successfully manage multiple assignments, large amounts of data and information, and meet established timelines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to work independently to complete assignments with little supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with various testing methods used to evaluate controls and identify risk
  • Proactive and self-starting
  • Adaptability in an agile and fast-paced environment
  • BSA/AML/Fraud/OFAC knowledge and hands-on industry experience, preferred
