Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Manager, DevOps to join the DDN Infinia storage team, where you will play a crucial role in managing a global DevOps team. This role will require you to be fully hands-on, leading by coding, issue investigation, process improvement and setting technical direction that will help improve developer/tester efficiency. We prefer this Candidate to located in the Denver, Colorado area however will consider other locations.

    Coach and mentor team members and direct reports for career development; Provide technical and strategic leadership to DevOps Engineer
  • Leads capacity planning for Infinia team while working with Developer/QE managers and leads of DDN managed data center. and how to figure out the hardware needs for ordering new hardware considering current utilization and needs of the future including adding additional engineers and demands of higher development/testing load.
  • Takes ownership of infrastructure management, and monitoring. Provides direction to identify and eliminate critical infrastructure problems and single points of failures.
  • Knowledgeable of complex CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Enterprise through the automated building of code, deploying to multiple environments including bare metal servers, containers on bare metal servers and Kubernetes pods, running repeatable tests in different configuration.
  • Knowledgeable of scalable self-managed backend infrastructure on VM and container virtualization technologies like KVM, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Comfortable using container and orchestration technologies to provide enterprise framework of deploying containers and running services at scale.
  • Assist where needed to debug high level failures that an end user might see like service not starting down through the various layers of automation to find root cause in a complex lab environment.
  • Solid understanding of programming with the ability to write production level code in Linux Shell, Python, and GoLang.
  • Expert in using deployment and automation tools to quickly bring up new systems and recovery failed systems and environments including Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, and Salt. Automate every task.
  • This is a Hybrid Position. Occasionally perform emergent data center work at our facility in Wheat Ridge, CO

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or related technical field with a minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience in software development
  • At least 3 years of experience in the management of DevOps teams with a proven track record in building modern software organizations.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in running successful infrastructure projects to completion.
  • Strong working knowledge of GitHub Actions or similar CICD environments and its usage
  • Strong grasp and demonstratable experience in orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Docker
  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, etc
  • Strong working knowledge of Python, Linux Shell, Ansible languages required, GoLang strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of GCP, Azure, and / or other cloud and cluster-based Infrastructure

Target Salary: $175,000K
